There was a time when in order to get a high paying job, you needed to reach a post that said director or vice president at the start of the job title. While those jobs still pay top dollars, there are also a new line of employment where you can earn a lot without having to step inside an office. The secret with most of these jobs is that few people can or are willing to do them. So if you have no reservations about doing some things that others might feel squeamish about, then you have the potential to earn top dollars. Here are some of the more unusual jobs that pay well. You might find these jobs to be your ticket to more earnings.
1. Court Reporter- If your typing speed is as fast as the speech of other people, then this kind of work can earn you up to $100,000. You’ve seen them at court room dramas, they’re the ones sitting there on the side, typing all throughout the drama, typing without looking at what they are doing. This job is very flexible and you can earn a lot of respect out of the fact that you work for the law. This job only requires fast typing speed and some legal knowledge. No need for any college degree or training like that.
2. Crab Catcher- If you have seen the “Deadliest Catch” on TV then you would have some idea just how dangerous this job is. You might think it ridiculous that people risk their life and limbs just to ensure that dinner tables will have their steady supply of King Crabs, but that is what they do. Crab catching is one of the most hazardous jobs in the world, but it is also highly rewarding. It could earn you enough so that you only have to go out there and risk your neck being broken for three months every year.
3. Bounty Hunter- Bounty hunters are often romanticized on movies and TV shows. They serve a very real purpose in the law enforcement and judiciary system. They hunt down fugitives and bring them back to police custody. In return they get a reward for their services which would amount to 10% of the bail that was paid by the fugitive. Needless to say, this kind of job has certain risks involved, but that could be part of its attraction to a lot of people.
4. Golf Ball Diver- If you are really through your nine to five job then you might want to try something as far out as golf ball diving. If you could get hundreds of balls at 20 cents per piece then that would be a lot of money. The good news is that you won’t be running out of balls to dive for, golfers are always losing them.
5. Auction Assistant- High class auctions are places where a lot of money is exchanged. If you get to work there, then it is highly likely that you will be earning a lot of money as well. Auction assistants help out during the actual auctions. They are the ones that bring out the items to be auctioned, or hold it up so the buyers can see them.
