In many parts of the world it is hot most of the time and especially during the day, and so they’ve come to appreciate the benefits of a wall fan. In fact, there are likely very few areas in the world where a wall mounted fan is of no use. Where most of us live, summers are often warm and if your house is not well insulated, as odd as this sounds, it can become stuffy and uncomfortably warm inside. In one place I lived, during the summer, it was cooler outside than it was in my apartment. And I didn’t have the benefit of a oscillating wall mount fan.

But to clear the air, in this post I’ll be talking about the wall mounted fan and probably with a bias to the wall mounted oscillating fan also to wall fans with remote which is a very handy feature. I’m not really talking about decorative wall fans which are usually Japanese style accordion hand fans that are used as items of home decor. The image in this post is the type of wall fan that I mean. Just so we are on the same page.
And actually, these wall fans are very easy to attach to the wall. If you’ve ever attached a TV bracket to your wall, then you have more than enough skills to attach a wall fan to your wall. However, if you’re looking for a through the wall fan then you’ll likely need some construction skills or hire a contractor, and that is outside the scope of this article.
The cheap wall fan that you see pictured is the Lasko 3 speed wall mounted oscillating fan and can be yours for around 50 bucks or so from Amazon. I’ll be honest with you. I decided to buy a wall fan because I got so tired of hauling my floor oscillating fan from the garage and back again after summer had come and gone. This type of wall fan looks good perched on my wall. Almost like a pet parrot!
If you sit at a desk a lot, then you might also want to consider a clip on table fan to have by your side. I work on the computer a lot, and I find the clip on oscillating fan great to keep me as well as my computer coole when I’m writing.
