Finding the best stock market software on the internet can be extremely challenging. It is my goal with this article to help give you some tips and ideas on how to find the best stock market software for your particular needs. This is not going to be a stock market software reviews articles as much as it is an advice article on tips to finding the best stock market analysis software for your needs. Now there are some really good free stock market software programs out there. But as with anything in life, there isn’t really anything free. These free stock market softwares still need to pull their information from the exchanges and that isn’t free. So being charged for that service they need to recoup their costs and this is often done through advertising.
So with that said, when it comes to free stock market analysis software I like to rely on the big trusted names. My favorite of course would have to be Yahoo Finance where you can find all sorts of information on the stocks that you are looking for. Similar to Google Finance which is another favorite, this type of free stock market software allows both technical traders and value investors to find the information that you need.
As far as technical indicators go, Yahoo offers the most used indicators like P/E (both forward and trailing), EPS, Price to Book, Price to Sales, EBITDA, Return on Assets, Short Ratio amongst a host of other key statistics. Plus you can also chart the most common indicators like Bollinger Bands, RSI, Stochastics, MACD and others.
For the value investor you have access to the Annual Reports, SEC filings, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and a host of other variables including Insider Holdings, Insider Trading and a plethora of Analyst Opinions as well as Analyst Sentiments. I find that as I am more of a value investor I turn first to Yahoo Finance as they are the oldest, but I honestly haven’t found that much of a difference with them and Google Finance. It really depends on which of these 2 free stock market screener software programs you prefer.
As far as stock market trading software is concerned I believe there is only one choice really for both value investors and technical investors. That one choice is the Think or Swim platform. This free stock market trading software is comparable to Bloomberg which costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars depending on your usage and what you need, but I find they offer everything I need, and I trade Forex, Options and Stocks. I’m looking at Futures too but haven’t traded them yet, but Think or Swim will hold me in good stead for that too.
I’d trade with Think or Swim too, their prices are excellent but they just haven’t quite managed to make a full thrust into Canada yet. If you’re looking for stock market software or more closely stock market prediction software, then you might want to try this program here. This is a program that seems to be doing quite well with determining winning trades if you are looking for a hands free solution. Though be warned, I often find that stock market prediction software if it isn’t carefully maintained, tweaked and curtailed it can become redundant quite quickly. So if you are going to go that route with your stock market software be prepared to keep an eye on your trades.
Personally, I find nothing as satisfying as using the free stock market software I suggested above, along with Think or Swim’s platform as well as my own research and due diligence in trading my stocks. I’m more successful that way and I enjoy it more too. I’m always skeptical of stock market software that is fully automated. To be used as a guide and a tool for sure, but I don’t want to put all my eggs in that one basket.
So for your free stock market software download head on over to TOS and download their platform and play around with it. I’m pretty certain you’ll be hard pressed to find a better stock market software out there at any price. And being free, it has got to be the best stock market software available whether you trade stocks, options, bonds, forex or futures.
